Next Show? The Private Party, and unfortunately you're not invited

A large, heartfelt thank you to everyone that came down to Scituate and the River Club this past Saturday.  I did not see the Giant Chicken, but I saw some other large things, so that was pretty sweet.  I hope we'll be back down there soon, maybe with Duff so we can blow everyone's eardrums to shreds.  Whaddaya say?

A few things to comment on:

- Ronnie James Dio: if you don't know Rainbow, Dio or Heaven and Hell/Live Evil era Black Sabbath, look it up.  Good stuff, even if he was a creepy little guy.  I was truly bummed to hear that he had passed away - short, ugly band members around the world have been inspired by Dio's success, and he will be missed.  A 4' tall Italian guy from New Hampshire singing about being the Man on the Silver Mountain ... and I'm not talking about the show you saw in Cambridge last week ... but wait ... Ronnie James Dio lives a pretty straight life, writes "Holy Diver" and gets stomach cancer, but Ozzy snorts Tommy Lee's pee, writes The Ultimate Sin (which had one good song on it - Shot in the Dark) and makes millions and has a tv show?  I don't get it ...

- This Andrew Wheeler/Harvard guy.  So, this kid gets bounced from Bowdoin and fakes his way into Harvard where he gets $50Gs in grants and gets to his senior year before any of these jackasses figure it out?  And he gets arrested and charged with fraud by the Mass DA?  But, the last three speakers of the house in Massachusetts are indicted and the DA has nothing to say about it?  Really?  This is criminal in Massachusetts?  So, a smartass guy swindling the private university with the largest endowment in the US out of $50G is more of a threat to society than a politician accepting bribes or covering for his serial killer scumbag brother.  Uh huh, OK.  I think the world needs more of these kids to prove that college is a big effing joke unless you become a scientist or a doctor or something.  English, history, psychology?  Please.  Welcome to Walmart and shut the hell up.

The CD is done.  Now we need to package it and all that stuff.  Feel the burn, people ...

Later.

Saturday, May 15 at The River Club in Scituate

Yes, the River Club in Scituate.  I think doors are early, like 7 or something and we start early, too, because they wrap up the tunes by 11:30 I think.  The good news is that it gives you enough time to screw up 3A and grab a drink in Quincy then make 2AM last call over the bridge at Ups n Downs.  Sweet.

So, to get to the River Club, turn on the road with the giant chicken sign ... oh wait, that's gone now.  Anybody else remember the Golden Rooster?  I always knew we were in Scituate when I saw the giant chicken.  Usually we were in Fitzy's Volare station wagon going to see someone named "Linda the Weed Queen", then goin to see this alcoholic chick that we'd give drinks to and see what happened.  Was it wrong?  Probably, but it's Scituate, people.  I think they're OK with that stuff down there.

OK, that is all.  See you guys on the 15th.

HEADS UP!!! - Clutch Grabwell is NOT playing at Yaz's in Quincy tonight!

Yo - sorry for the confusion.  We were originally scheduled to play at Yaz's tonight, but the show was moved because a couple of the guys are out of town.

I also noticed on Facebook that some people showed up for the original date at the River Club in Scituate.  That date changed as well.  Again, my sincerest apologies, but please remember to check this site before any other for the latest in shows and updates!  The Facebook/Myspace stuff is great, but they are run by friends and  I don't always get the chance to update them on changes.  Yes, it's my fault, but this site is always up to date.  Here's the hints:

1. Go to the SHOWS page on this website, then click "refresh" in your browser to make sure you don't load a page from your cache.  Yeah, there's probably things I could do to fix that on my end, but I'm operating at the extent of my potential.  Sorry.

2. Call 781-925-9050 and check the message.

Again, sorry guys.  I'll buy you a drink at the next show to make up for it.  Maybe I'll even dedicate a Gene Simmons-esque "God of Thunder" bass solo to you as well.

Yours in Rock,
JC
